http://www.modbee.com/news/nation-world/national/article170134257.html As Hurricane Harvey continues to cause havoc in all places south, the focus of damage has been on the immediate destruction by flooding, wind, and other natural disasters. Another tremendous harmful force has been that of pollution, especially by way of air. "More than 1 million pounds of air pollution was released in that region as petrochemical plants were forced to shut down." The Category 4 hurricane has lead to the release of volatile organic compounds, sulfur dioxide and carcinogens like benzene. In order to rid of them they must be burnt, but not in a cleanly way, adding thousands of more carcinogens into the public air supply. The extent of the damage that is to be caused is still unclear. Hopefully there will be an end to the catastrophe soon.
With the disaster striking, we can only prosper with the help and assistance of everyone involved, and even those who are not. If a major hurricane were to hit California, I'm sure that many Californians would be calling upon other for help. Why don't we return the favor?

Using your grass as your restroom is now something not only farm and wild animals have become accustomed to. Many people have taken to their own resources to supply nutrients to their plants. However, the urine by itself does not do the plants much good - it must be dilated with water at a 2-1 ratio in order to reap all of the benefits. Without the neutralizer, the liquid is plentiful in doses of nitrogen, potassium, and some phosphorous. These are all healthy for the maintenance and up-keeping of plants, especially grass. But, urine is also high in levels of salt which burns and sometimes kills plants with ease. So, if you're planning on helping your plants thrive by emptying your bladder, you may want to do so by going in a watering can, adding 2x the liquid in there of water, then proceed to enjoy your time gardening.
But please, if you're reading this and you're my neighbor or live on a main street anywhere, don't pee into anything in broad daylight other than the toilet in your home. Also, it is not necessary for you to tell anyone that you use urine to help your plants. |
